State cuts vehicle stickers down to 1

Every vehicle owner in Texas will begin a dance March 1 that will transition them to a new process of getting vehicles registered under a state plan called “Two Steps, One Sticker.” Local tax assessor-collectors are starting to educate the public. “We’re putting out brochures, putting up posters, answering a lot of questions,” said Potter County Tax Assessor-Collector Sherri Aylor. read more

Potter County Fire and Rescue was called to help put out a mobile home fire about 1:45 p.m. Tuesday on Texas Highway 809 about a mile and a half south of Interstate 40. No injuries were reported. Assistance was called for because of heavy smoke, Oldham County Sheriff David Medlin said. About 25 percent of the home was severely damaged. The cause of the fire is still under investigaton.
